Our NEW longboard model. The Platypus is a surfboard design inspired by snowboards parabolics that was originally designed by Chops as a 6'0" shortboard. The fairly normal nose template narrows at the 'waist' reducing the resistance from the mid surfboard rail line, this is then met with the big 'hip' tail to give the break point to pivot on and the elongated tail to give bite in the face.
The unusual shape of the Platypus surfboard gives a longboard that has great reaction off the back foot but the nose area also means that the surfboard will nose ride well, with quick transitions of the surfer from nose to tail.
From
9'0 to 10'0 this surfboard includes a full nose concave, substantial tail lift and a Spiral Vee or double concave bottom design with a fin box and
side fins combination.
This board
has a hard rail on the tail for control, which blends into fuller, softer rail in the front. The increased tail rocker for super responsive rail turns and great for stalling on the nose. Excellent acceleration from the spiral Vee.
